I’ve been craving oatcakes lately, so I started working on a recipe last week. The problem with most oatcake recipes is that they have white flour in them and I don’t do white flour. The recipe I came up with seems to work really well.

Scott brought home jelly doughnuts yesterday morning on his way home from the doctor. The guy’s coming home from getting blood drawn to check his outrageously high triglycerides, and he stops for jelly doughnuts. Of course, doing the Sugar Busters! thing, doughnuts are a serious no-no for me. But how do you say no to a couple of jellies staring you in the face? Exactly. You eat them so they stop staring at you.
On the whole, the Sugar Busters! thing is working out well. Since January, I’m down 12 pounds. I eat “bad” things a couple of times a week, but I figure I’m not going to live my whole life on a strict diet, why should I lose weight on one? And 10 pounds in 3 months is 40 by the end of the year. Woohoo!
