I’m not as crazy about this cocktail as I am about the Aviation, which uses the same ingredients with the addition of maraschino liqueur. The maraschino really adds something to it. Still, this cocktail will do just fine in a pinch, and I’m always happy to have other ways to use my crème de violette.
2 ounces dry gin
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce crème de violette
Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
